Howdy campers!
Well as promised, here are a few pictures from Robbie's 1st birthday! Just so you know, dad (or mom) did nothing to encourage him to slam his face into the cake. He did it all himself!
Well, here we are a few days away from Valentine's Day and I am praying for Spring to get here pronto! It has been interesting in our home since my last post. Both Cindy and Robbie had to deal with illness that we are not sure where they may have gotten it. Fortuately, I have not gotten sick so far this winter (knock on wood!). While I have rapped up another year of Men's Fraternity (an excellant ministry!), Cindy and I have enrolled into a 13 week class at church called Financial Peace University. Dave Ramsey is the teacher for this program that is done via video and a workbook. We are heading into week #2 tonight (the 11th) and there is homework with each lesson. It has lots of tools for couples to use to get out of, stay out of debt, and begin saving for future events in steps that are not huge. Dave has a national radio program that he speaks about the many things in the area of finances and how to make things work. We are looking forward to learning these tools to be better stewards of the money God has blessed us with through various avenues. I am believing in some good results!
While the sickness bug has made his visit and now out of the house, it is good to see both Cindy & Robbie back to their normal selves. Robbie and I had boys day this past Saturday with Cindy going to Fremont for a women's conference. We had a good time playing and eating (yea that can be fun!) for a good part of the day. We were able to bond a bit more and he is getting very good at walking. He has been able to get to a point of running in short spurts (and crashing too) and running in circles quite well. Could he be a future track star???? Only God knows!
On another note, it has been a tough week for myself as I received a phone call from one of my aunts that she had taken my mom to the hospital due to feeling light headed. After some tests and x-rays were taken, it was discovered that one of her arteries that feeds the right arm & the back of her brain is 90% blocked. I have gone most days to the hospital to check on her and visit. She is scheduled to have an operation to take care of the problem and then be able to return home. While any surgery can be scary, it seems like it should be pretty easy to perform with out much trouble. I will try to update her situation as I am able to do so.
Take care!
