Well...more snow

Greetings once again folks!
Despite the fact the calendar says it is spring, God is using his sense of humor to let us know that it can snow in spring and it is not just a winter thing. Within the last week, we have received about 8 inches of snow. Hopefully it will melt away since the real Opening Day for baseball here in the States is this Monday! And yes, my beloved Tigers open in Detroit on Monday against Kansas City. Justin Verlander is the opening day starting pitcher for the Tigers and I am certain that we will walk away with a win! I am looking forward to an exciting season with a good chance the Tigers will be playing into late October and the World Series. We will see how it works out!

On the home front, Robbie enjoyed his Easter very much. We had a Easter egg hunt on Saturday in the house since there was about 7 inches of snow on the ground and pretty cold as well. So Cindy had hidden several eggs while he took his nap and when he woke up, she guided him around the house to find all the eggs (they were plastic & had candy in them) and he did a really good job too! :) We had also got him some toys to play with since giving him too much candy at h is age would not be a good thing. One of his toys was a very big blue ball! He is able to pick it up pretty well and roll it around the front room as well. Robbie is getting better at letting us know if he wants certain things like juice (which might be a nickname for him in the future!) or if he wants to be held. He has also began throwing temper tantrums and in a sense, they are pretty cute right now. Both Cindy and I kind of laugh whenever he does it because he looks so cute. He tends to stand in one spot and scream while looking at us and clinches his little hands tightly. I know there will be a time when he will not be as cute with his outbursts, but in the meantime, I shall cherish them.
Last night after we had dinner, Cindy went to Robbie's Easter basket and gave him a blue peep. After fiddling with it for a few minutes, Cindy took a small piece and stuck it on the end of his nose! Too bad we did not have the camera ready to take a picture of it. But maybe next time! We had also gone over to my Aunt Mary Jo's house for Easter since that is where my mom is recuperating from her surgery. She was in good spirits and is getting closer to being herself again each day. She is looking forward to going back to her apartment once she gets back to full strength.

Well that is about it for the time being. Hopefully the next time I write, there will be no snow and the it will be warmer than 40 degrees!

Spring is almost here!

Time sure does fly when life happens!
We now are a few weeks into March and I have wondered where all the time has gone. While it is true that when you have a little one (or more) in the house, it seems like you are in a time warp! So without further adieu, here is what has been happening at the household!

As usual, Robbie has been growing and developing pretty well since the last entry. He is slowly closing in on 15 months (on the 29th of March) and is running, throwing, and chatting away (at least in baby lingo). He is getting better in the walking department without crashing & burning too much these days. He has even tried to climb the stairs at the house a few times (and got as high as the 3rd step). Of course, Cindy & I promptly take him upstairs to his bedroom and place him in his crib for some timeout. Cindy got the idea from her dad who had done that to her older brother Joe when he was a little guy and their house had stairs. Robbie sometime gets that mischievous look in his eyes just before he touches the stairs and giggles when he does it. Sometimes it is hard not to laugh, but we take him up for a few minutes and then bring him down. Most of the time, I usually give him a lecture on playing on the stairs, the reason mommy & daddy take him up and all the other stuff that goes along with it. The other day, Cindy took him outside to play in the backyard since we had some snow, and he had a ball! Even though he does not like putting on his coat sometimes, he had a good time. This past week, some friends from church asked us to watch their dog--a 1 year old black lab. Robbie has used her as a cushion to lay his head or body on her. At least it isn't Chloe.
In other news, my mom had a artery bypass on the 10th and came through with flying colors! She will be staying with one of my aunts while she recovers and can return to her apartment. Thanks to everyone who prayed for her. It sure has made things a bit easier for all of us.
Well, time to head out for the time being. Hopefully, next time will not be that long!
